Food Ministries
At St. Aidan’s we feel a strong call to service in our neighborhood, to sharing nourishment, and to fostering an abundant, fun-loving sense of community.
Friday Food Pantry
Each Friday from 1-2pm, thanks to a group of amazing volunteers and the San Francisco/Marin Food Bank, we share fresh, seasonal fruits and vegetables and a variety of other foods with our neighbors in the 94131 zip code. We share this food in our flexible worships space with thanksgiving for all the different ways we called to feed and be fed by and with one another. The entrance to this space is from our driveway on Gold Mine Drive.
Diamond Diners
On the first Wednesday of the month at noon, another wonderful group of volunteers cooks and serves a delicious homemade, sit-down luncheon for seniors. This lunch takes place downstairs in our parish hall. The entrance is at the top of the ramp off Diamond Heights Boulevard in the space usually used by the Cielito Lindo preschool. There are often delicious leftovers to take home, as well as fresh produce from our plot at the Little Red Hen Community Garden. Come, and bring a friend!

In this COVID-19 context, we are continuing Diamond Diners in take out form at our main (upstairs) entrance from noon-1 PM.
Community Meals
At various times during the year we host and/or open our space for community events that include or feature meals:
-
On the Tuesday evening before the start of the Christian season of Lent – known in the UK as “Pancake Day”-- we host a Pancake Supper.
-
In the summer we organize a parish picnic in Christopher Park
-
On Thanksgiving Day we host a catered community meal with all the trimmings
-
In December we open our space for a Holiday Party with crafts, food and music, organized by the Diamond Heights Neighborhood Association
-
At various times during the year we open our space for Resilient Diamond Heights trainings and information sessions, often accompanied by meals
